About EMRules
EMRules is a regulatory intelligence service for compliance, legal and expansion teams working in emerging markets. It reads the publications of financial regulators and turns each one into an English record.
The service
Central banks, securities commissions and other financial regulators publish rules, circulars and notices on their own websites, in their own languages. EMRules collects those publications into one corpus. Each article is an English record that a team can search and filter by market, source, topic and document type, in the dashboard or through the REST API.
How a record is produced
- Read at the source. Each regulator's site is read at its own address, every 24 hours, at a modest pace, and its robots.txt is honoured.
- Original kept. The original text stays beside the English translation, with its original title and language.
- Fields added. A summary and structured fields are added: document type, topics, effective date, key requirements, affected entities and penalties.
The translation, the summary and the fields are generated by AI from the original publication. On any discrepancy the original prevails, and a reader should verify against it before relying on a summary.
Who it serves
Compliance, legal and expansion teams at fintechs that enter or operate in more than one emerging market. A team reads each market in English, keeps the original beside it, and filters by topic, source or document type.
